The Adventure of 826 Nevada

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This Las Vegas 826 shop is Train themed. Kids love trains and the deep success story of Vegas was rooted in a railroad route (The union pacific). The brand identity pulls from old ticket design and the overall old train aesthetics.



THE HISTORY

Vegas’s success mainly started from the Tonopah Railroad. This railroad connected Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas in 1905. During that time a politician who owned land near the railroad stopped in Vegas and sold his land. Shortly after this property became a “station cafe” which also included the town’s first casino.

The Tonopah train route was used to transport goods and materials. Vegas quickly became a popular rest stop. The famous station grew in popularity and became a desirable investment for businessmen. Their attention allowed the station to grow, spring-boarding the town to cater to These visitors. Since then Las Vegas has turned into a hub of entertainment. Vegas, as we know it today, is known for its nightlife and party-induced culture. The Tonopah Railroad was mainly responsible for the boom of this tourist party town.



RATIONALE

Nevada suffers from having the worst education system. Some causes resulting from Rejected children due to the nonstop 24-hour city work grind. But through this concept, kids can experience the travel routes of the old railroads, and through every stop, it could be a step-by-step system of learning. Each stop would reward certain pieces of gear or relics along with information about these railroads. This idea plays off the progress aspect of travel. 826’s priority is to provide kids with a creative learning environment, using the train theme, this would allow kids to experience education in a way that appears fun in an adventurous way.
